Heather Josten LMT
Hello! I am Heather Josten. I started college as a dance major, but after a painful back injury I found massage therapy for my own healing. Soon after I realizing my dance career was over I decided to study to become a massage therapist. In 1998 I received an Associate's Degree from the New York College of Wholistic Health Education in Syossett.
From that point I knew I wanted to work with women during pregnancy; after moving to Colorado I finally found the place to continue my education and in 2005 I completed my Certification in Prenatal, Labor Support and Postpartum Massage as the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. Since then I have spent many years focusing on working with mamas!
Meanwhile after working in a few different Colorado spas in 2001 I decided to start my own business, Mani Celesti Therapeutic Massage. While reading the book Sastun by Rosita Arvigo, I realized that I wanted to enhance my knowledge and bring additional benefits to my clients by studying May Abdominal Therapy. Since then I have studied with Rosita on multiple occasions in Belize and in the States and became certified in The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy in 2007. I have also taken an advanced training course with Rosita that focused on how to help pregnant women with the Maya Abdominal Techniques. I have used these techniques with many women to relive their digestive problems, help them in their journey to conceive, and release emotions held in their bodies. I believe that Maya Abdominal Therapy can benefit most people.
Feeling my practice was not yet complete, as well as feeling that I was missing a chance to meet all the babies I massaged while they were in their mommies tummies, I decided to add Infant Massage lessons. In 2007 I became certified as an Infant Massage Instructor.
I feel blessed to be working with women during this special time of their life and am thankful for all my clients. My goal is to help educate women on their choices and help them enjoy their pregnancies feeling pain-free, nurtured and supported.
After many years of my own fertility struggles I feel truly blessed to have a daughter of my own with my wonderful, patient husband Trent. I have experienced the aches and pains of pregnancy and all the emotions involved with the postpartum time. I am happy to take what I have learned and apply it to my work. I look forward to working with you.
